How You Shouldn't Go to The Dentist

Oral and dental hygiene are really important; actually I am not sure if they are not the same thing, but anyway I am not a doctor to tell. We all know it is important to brush our teeth, to floss and to go on checkups regularly and I am sure that most people almost do it regularly, but there is always some place for leeway. And I am a living example of that fact.

I brush and floss regularly, but sometimes I forget, probably this wouldn't be such of a major problem if it wasn't the anxiety I have every time before visiting my dentist. I regularly schedule checkups (at least in my calendar) but in the end I feel so anxious about going and sitting on that chair that I put it off for some other time.

I am a grown man after all, but we all have our fears. Anyway I had skipped at least two checkups (which would make it a bit more than a year) when I started feeling this dull ache in my jaw. At first I didn't make much of it. I though it is just going to pass and it really did for about a week and then it came back with vengeance. On the second day of waves of pain followed by waves of dull ache and almost no food I decided it was about time to call my dentist.

I found his card, since I had never bothered to put his number in my phone and called his office. Image my surprise when his voicemail informed me that he was using the repairs they were making in his office to take a one week vacation. I felt almost relived that I am not going to go to the dentist just yet, but the relief was shattered that night when the pain in my teeth become almost unbearable.

I searched through my friends about the best dentist in Brooklyn they know about and I was referred by several people to try the Parshin Dental clinic. I called scheduled an hour for the next day, went there and in about 40 minutes my problem was solved without me even flinching at any moment. Actually I was surprised that I was given priority for the next day once I explained my situation.

Since that time I diced to be more disciplined as it comes to my health and to change dentists. And the most important lesson I learned was that you shouldn't take chances with your health in any way.
